Another week has passed and another Blog is upon us. I’m sure most of you have been able to catch the start of the Wildcats’ season. A great start at that too. There have been other news stories taking place in Tucson, both good and bad, so the week has been pretty eventful. But we’re here to talk about storage, and other useful tips that involve moving and organization, aren’t we? So, let’s get right to it then.
When storing in a off-site storage unit, having a variety of boxes is going to be key. Making a unit that is tight and organized makes a big difference, and having the box variety will allow you to pack in a more efficient way. Think of packing in this sense as a game of building blocks. By having an assortment of different sized boxes you can better create an environment that thrives on organization. This is a much better option than just throwing things into the unit and then forgetting about it until you need something.
Adding off of that tip, color-coding your boxes and labels will give you an additional layer of organization. By giving each room it’s own color, you can label each box accordingly and set up your storage unit for the easiest access.
Another small thing that can be done, is to leave moving materials ( blankets, bungee cords, tarps) that you used to bring your stuff to storage in the unit. This will ensure that you have all the proper supplies available when it comes time to move out the unit, since everything you used to transfer your belongings will be in the unit already.
Now, these are just a few things you can do to make your storage and moving experience easier. There are always more things to do, but they start to become smaller and smaller as you go along the list. The best part about that is accumulating that kind of knowledge will greatly increase the effectiveness of your storage unit. Keep checking back for more little tips that will give you the insight needed to master the storage experience.
